Finally gave up on trying to upload an avatar and header photo from my phone, and did it from my laptop. No idea why it wasn't working, but all set now. My phone is an iPhone but my laptop runs Ubuntu Linux, so three cheers for open source software, I guess. :-)
Tip for any non-Dutch people here: if you use Firefox or a derivative, there's a very useful browser extension that sends highlighted text to Google Translate. I can usually figure out a lot of Dutch (since it's related to English and German), but sometimes I just feel lazy.
I suspect it will be very quiet here until western Europe wakes up in the morning.
